A 2 year old girl was killed in a house fire on Grand Rapids northeast side on Thursday night May, 3, 2018.
Fire officials say the fire started about 7:30 p.m, in a two unit house at 227 Dale St NE between Coit and Plainfield Avenue.
Attempts to rescue the girl from the first floor rear bedroom went unsuccessful due to the flames.
Family members sobbed as firefighters brought out what appeared to be the girl wrapped in a white blanket from the home.
The fire seemed to have started near the rear of the home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
